A Rurouni Kenshin fanart based on an excellent story on fanfiction.net called "Only the Beginning" (by: lolo popoki). I have her written permission to post a picture based on her fiction. Please check her out at:

Her story is an alternate universe fiction where instead of becoming a wanderer who protects to atone for his sins as an assassin, Kenshin tries to atone by killing himself. This picture is the scene where his master, Hiko Seijuro is grieving over the body of his apprentice, Kenshin who had abandoned him years ago. Drawn in pencil. Background coloring done with chalk pastels. Characters colored with colored pencil. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Wonderful drawing. I love the detail on all parts of it. I like Hiko's hair and cape...for some reason. They look nice. I love it! It's going on my fave list!
